How to Find Your Peace – From Nature to the Office
"There is no path to peace. Peace is the path." - said Mahatma Gandhi. It sounds quite simple, doesn't it? But now, stop and ask yourself: "Am I already on that path?" If you are, congratulations! You belong to the rare and fortunate few. Most of us are still searching for that path, or at least trying to stay on it despite everyday challenges. And to be honest, it’s not as easy as it seems.
Today, I’m sharing a few tips on how to find your peace – whether in nature, the office, or while having coffee during a break. :)
1.A Quick Escape... Even at Work
If you feel like work is pressing on every nerve, close your eyes for a moment. Imagine a forest – do you hear the rustling leaves and feel the fresh air? Take a deep breath through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and then slowly exhale through your mouth. In just a few moments, this mini "forest escape" can completely reset your body and mind. If you have a window nearby with a view of some greenery, gaze at it and imagine all I just described.
I remember when I first tried this in the middle of a stressful day – I was completely surprised by how just a few minutes “in the forest” made me feel refreshed. Even if you can’t physically leave the office or look out the window, the mental image of nature can instantly reduce your stress.
Pro tip: Add a few drops of essential oil to your wrist or scarf to enhance the visualization effect. Lavender is a classic for calming, but if you need energy, try peppermint or bergamot – both have a refreshing effect and can help you stay focused.
2. Bring Green Friends into Your Day – Plants, Pictures, and Your Natural Corner
Can’t escape to nature every day? Let nature come to you! Plants are the best friends when it comes to creating a sense of peace and harmony in the office. Place them on your desk or window sill, and you’ll immediately feel how your space transforms into a small oasis.
Alongside my favorites like sansevieria (snake plant), peace lily, and pilea (Chinese money plant), I also recommend golden pothos, which is great for purifying the air, and aloe vera, which not only refreshes the air but also has healing properties. A bamboo palm can add a tropical feel and improve air quality.
Just a 2-minute glance at a green plant every 20 minutes can help your eyes rest from screen time.
Pro tip: Combine plants with aromatherapy. Cedarwood helps with grounding, while tea tree oil purifies the air and refreshes the mind. Place a diffuser on your desk or use it at home in your peaceful corner.

3.The Power of the Moment – Explore Nature with New Eyes
When you’re finally in nature, make it a true moment for yourself. Take a walk without the pressure to reach a specific goal. Stop at the first tree you see, touch its bark, feel its texture, and smell the fresh leaves. Nature teaches us simplicity and presence, which you can carry with you into everyday life.
If your thoughts start to scatter, focus on natural sounds – birds singing, wind rustling through the leaves – this is your personal “soundtrack” for relaxation.
Pro tip: Try walking barefoot on grass or soft sand whenever you have the chance. This practice, known as earthing, can help reduce stress, improve sleep, and even decrease inflammation in the body. The combination of walking and deep breathing can create a sense of deep inner peace.
4. Little Tricks for Home Peace – How to Create a Natural Atmosphere at Home
Even if you don’t live near a forest or the sea, you can still create your own peaceful corner at home. A few plants, natural scented candles, and cozy materials like linen pillows can transform your living space into a true oasis of peace.
Use eucalyptus or sandalwood in candles or a diffuser – both scents calm and restore energy, creating the feeling that you’re in nature.
